Ronald F. Silk, 71, of Winchester, New Hampshire, died Friday, March 18, 2016. He was born in Keene, New Hampshire to Bernard F. Silk and Frances M. (Upton) Silk. He graduated from Marlborough NH High School in 1962 and as a young man, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and snowmobiling with family and friends. He also raised hunting dogs and enjoyed taking them to events where they competed against other dogs in bench shows, water races, and field trials.

He served in the Army National Guard (Battery C, 1st Battalion, 172nd Artillery) for the last half of the 1960s. He completed a program in Building Construction at the New Hampshire Technical Institute (Manchester campus), and went on to a career in carpentry, a trade that was also his passion: he built two houses for his family, one in Marlborough and one in Marlow.

Ronald was a devoted Red Sox fan, enjoyed birdwatching and music, and was active in church, where he would volunteer his skills in carpentry and construction. He shared those skills, his time, and his heart generously with friends and family, whether repairing a broken door, building a shed, or opening his heart to someone’s burden.

He is survived by his wife Casandra, his daughters Shelli of Marlow and Susanne of Londonderry, as well as sons Daniel, Gian, and Enrico, daughters Renee and Gabrielle, and also his stepsons Brian and Nathan. He also leaves a brother Robert and his wife Martha of Keene, as well as several grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 2 at New Life Assembly, 251 Post Rd, South Kingstown, RI 02879. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
